Kathak by Antara Bhardwaj

​​Kathak is a classical story-telling dance from northern India, known for its percussive footwork, rapid pirouettes, and dramatic storytelling. Classes will be led by Antara Bhardwaj, founder and artistic director of Antara Asthaayi Dance. Antara’s panache and magnetism have dazzled audiences internationally. With over two decades of experience teaching, Antara is a master at her craft, known for her ability to make classical arts accessible to students and audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Antara is joined by Ojaswee Chaudhary, or “Oju didi,” as she is lovingly called by her students. Oju brings her loving kindness to the classroom and is a favorite amongst all the children she teaches. Through kathak, students will develop focus and discipline that extends far beyond on the dance floor, whilst creating pride for their community and heritage.
